Exploring Prayer & Meditation as Physical Practice
Details for one 6-week series
Learn how to focus your intentions with your breath, explore physical sensations to become more present and spiritually aware, and try on gentle, guided movement as a form of contemplative practice. Each session will focus on a new theme that incorporates music, works of poetry, centuries-old prayers, and body-based practices to enrich your experience in prayer and meditation.
Population: designed for ages 16+ (accessible to all body types and abilities)
Length of workshop: 6 consecutive sessions, 60-minute session each week
Delivery: offered in-person or remotely on Zoom

Arts & Mindfulness Coach
Emily Olson seamlessly weaves together music, movement, visual art, creative writing and mindfulness practices in an integrated approach to personal and spiritual growth. Over the course of her 25-year career as a professional musician, she cultivated a holistic approach to mindful awareness by integrating sound, movement, writing, storytelling and visual art with practices from multiple wisdom traditions, as well as through studying the Alexander Technique, Authentic Movement, Body Mapping, Dalcroze Eurythmics, Enneagram, and Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education. Emily has a Master of Music degree in Flute Performance from the University of Michigan, and her interest in the role of the arts and mindfulness in health and wellness has led to certifications in Therapeutic Music, RYT 200 Yoga Teacher Training, and Trauma & Body-Based Awareness. Emily’s depth and breadth of artistry have been fostered by her spiritual journey, which can be characterized by lifelong curiosity, an unbound pursuit of wisdom, and a constant longing to evolve.
Details for one 6-week series
Payment structure: Full amount paid in advance by your institution with a check made payable to Emily Olson, 874 Pinecrest, Dexter, MI 48130 or other mutually agreed upon payment method.
Minimum number of registered participants to run the workshop: five (5) participants
Travel stipend may be negotiated for in-person workshops offered at organizations located more than 60 miles from Dexter, MI.
Cancellation Policy: Full refund up to 2 weeks before the scheduled workshop date; 50% refund after that up to 3 days from the scheduled date. If there are fewer than eight students registered for the workshop two weeks out, the workshop will be canceled and you will be issued a full refund.
